We’ve known each other since high school, where a very teenage version of “us” first began. Our early years together included navigating awkward hallway encounters, questionable high school parties, and big dreams about our futures. We dated before life took us in different directions—Jordan to Ames, and Kensley on a multi-state tour through Indiana, Maryland, and Kansas. We stayed in touch for a while, drifted for a bit, and then lived our separate lives… until August 2023.
That summer, Kensley moved back to Iowa and messaged Jordan with a totally innocent question about apartments in Ames. One conversation turned into many, and soon it felt like absolutely no time had passed at all.
Since then, we’ve spent our weekends hopping between family events, spending time with friends, seeing live music, finding estate sales, and trying (with mixed success) to convince Zane and Zelda that Remi is actually very cool.
We’ve traveled everywhere from Colorado to Michigan, Florida, Vegas, Wisconsin, the Ozarks, and Boston. Nearly every trip has handed us something to laugh about—like both air mattresses popping on our first two getaways and, at one point, Kensley accidentally leaving Jordan behind at the airport. (Don’t worry—he eventually made it.) It’s fitting, though: Kensley is planned and organized… while Jordan brings the improvisation. Together, it works perfectly. It’s become a running theme: laid-back, low-key, and always laughing our way through whatever comes our way.
In September 2025, we took our biggest adventure yet—Germany & Austria, with a stopover in Iceland. While staying in igloos under the northern sky, Jordan popped the question. We spent the next two weeks celebrating, soaking in the moment, and feeling grateful for the winding path that brought us back together.
Now, we can’t wait to start this next chapter and celebrate with the people who have supported, loved, and laughed with us since the very beginning.
